PSG Mercato: Brazilian Prospect Dubbed as the ‘New Neymar’ Set to Snub Paris and Join Manchester City

Paris Saint-Germain has just lost the race to sign a promising Brazilian prospect. The Brazilian-based outlet UOL notes that Premier League side Manchester City is set to sign Fluminense U17 forward Kayky.

Manchester City is on the verge of acquiring Kayky for a €10 million fee, per the report. However, Fluminense could garner more from this transfer deal based on goal-based variables. Fluminense could also add to this total fee if Manchester City goes on to sell the talent in the future, which would hand the side a small percentage of the re-sell fee.

For PSG, there were no reports alluding that the side had made any serious move to sign Kayky, but one recent report noted the French champions’ interest in the forward.

Real Madrid, Liverpool and Juventus also showed an early interest in Kayky as well.

The 17-year-old prospect has spent recent seasons in Fluminense’s youth system. One of his more impressive accomplishments came during the 2020 Brazilian U17 Football Championship. The forward not only led Fluminense U17 to triumph in the tournament but also finished with 12 goals scored.

Once the deal is officially completed between Manchester City and Fluminense, Kayky will then move into the club’s youth system next year when the talent will enter as one of its newest promising prospects.
