AC Milan sits atop the Serie A table. Despite their on-pitch success this season, there’s the elephant in the room for the Italian side. 21-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma needs a new contract considering his current one will expire at the end of the season.

The Italy international is represented by agent Mino Raiola, who wants his client to be one of the highest-paid players at his position. ESPN reports that Raiola intends to make Donnarumma the second-highest-paid goalkeeper in the world behind David de Gea.

If the Rossoneri fail to meet these demands, Paris Saint-Germain is ready to step up its efforts to lure Donnarumma to the French capital. In the past, the capital club offered €20-million in 2019; however, AC Milan turned down the offer.

Nonetheless, with Donnarumma out of a contract in June, all PSG will need to do is meet Raiola’s salary demands. The four-letter network adds that the 21-year-old’s camp rejected a contract offer from AC Milan that would see the stopper earn €7.5m a year in a new long-term contract.

Raiola wants to land a €10-million annual salary on a shorter deal for Donnarumma.
