Mauricio Pochettino and Moise Kean Offer Their Comments on the Injury to Neymar

A week before their matchup against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16, Neymar Jr. picked up what seems like a groin injury in the capital club’s 1-0 victory against Stade Malherbe Caen in the Coupe de France.

Two people spoke postgame with Eurosport 2 (via Canal Supporters) with various tones concerning the injury to the 29-year-old.

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke postgame to the French media outlet. When talking about Neymar’s injury, the Argentine tactician was a bit conservative when discussing the topic. Rather than speculating, Pochettino wants to await the doctor’s evaluation.

“It’s difficult to have an opinion tonight. We’ll see tomorrow with the doctor,” Pochettino said. “For the moment, it is difficult to say. Is it a small thing, or can he be there next week? I need more information to decide. The adductors? Yes, it is.”

However, Neymar’s teammate, Moise Kean, was a bit more optimistic. The 20-year-old went on to say that the Brazil international is fine and will be ready for the matchup against Barcelona.

“Neymar? He’s fine, he’s going to be in training tomorrow, and he’ll be ready for the matches to come,” Kean said.

Regardless of which side is right, it is a cause for concern for PSG looking at the possibility of not having their superstar forward ahead of their travel to Barcelona.
