It’s no secret that relations between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona have been shaky over the last few years. The Spanish club has tried on various occasions to destabilize plays on the capital club but to no avail.
Furthermore, the entire Neymar Jr. saga resulted in Les Parisiens paying the Brazil international’s release clause to arrive at the French capital in 2017. Fast forward four years later, PSG is reportedly trying to lure Barça’s Lionel Messi with the help of Neymar, who has stated that he wants to play with his former teammate, whose contract expires in June.
Meanwhile, on the pitch, Barça pulled off the remontada in 2017 to rip the hearts of PSG supporters in the forgetful night at the Camp Nou. All this has led to tensions between the two clubs as both sides will meet in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie.
Upon his arrival, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi arrived in Barcelona, Spanish media outlet El Partizado de Cope shared a video of Barça supporters shouted “leave Messi alone, thief!” and “give me a million euros!”
Safe to say, it will not be a warm welcome for anyone associated with PSG in Barcelona.
