‘It Really Saddens Me’ — Neymar Provides for First Comments Following Adductor Injury

Paris Saint-Germain has officially ruled out Neymar for around the next four weeks due to a left adductor injury. The Brazilian suffered the injury during PSG’s 1-0 Coupe de France win over Caen where he took on a hard foul from a Caen full-back.

Neymar is set to miss multiple key fixtures, including PSG’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 first leg showdown against FC Barcelona.

Neymar posted an Instagram story following the match that read: “God knows everything. Honor and glory to you Lord.”

Today, Neymar released his frustrations regarding the injury via an Instagram post. The post read:

“The sadness is great, the pain is immense, and the crying is constant. … Sometimes I feel uncomfortable because of my style of play, because I dribble and constantly get beaten up, I don’t know if the problem is me or what I do on the pitch. … it really saddens me. It makes me too sad to hear from a player, coach, commentator. … “he really has to be beaten” “falls down” “crying” “kid” “spoiled” etc. … Honestly, it saddens me and I don’t even know when I can take it, I just want to be happy playing football.”

Neymar has simply had it with the constant injuries that have come as a result of cheap or reckless fouls. More so, his frustration is also apparent considering that he is set to miss yet another Champions League knockout stage fixture with PSG.

While the Brazilian has not officially been ruled out of PSG’s round of 16 second leg bout against Barca, he sure would need to make great strides with his recovery process in order to be available for the fixture.

For now, players such as Kylian Mbappe and Mauro Icardi will need to step up in Neymar’s absence. And with the likely absence of Angel Di Maria from the Barca clash next week, PSG sure will need several standout performances in order to come away from the fixture with a keen result.
