Julian Draxler came away from Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 fixture against Lille OSC pleased with his performance in the match.
With PSG’s recent injury woes, manager Mauricio Pochettino opted to provide Draxler with a start against Nice.
Draxler took on the role of a central attacking midfielder for PSG in the match. Overall, Draxler scored a goal, created four goal-scoring chances for teammates, and logged an interception in the contest.
Overall, Draxler (via PSG TV) is thrilled to have played a key role in PSG’s much-needed win over Lille OSC.
“As I said, it was not easy, but we tried to find spaces to play, and I think that in the end, we deserve to win, but it is clear that it was not easy,” Draxler said. “There are also some players missing, and others like me for example, who don’t have a lot of rhythm. So it was very important to win today and keep the three points at home.”
“Yes, it’s been a long time since I had played, not started, so it does me good it’s clear, but as I always say, the most important is to win the match, rather than one or the other mark. The most important thing is the team, and that’s why I’m pleased to have helped.”
Draxler has scored three goals in league play this season.
