‘I Made the Right Choice to Leave Paris’ – Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman Opens up About His Decision to Leave PSG

Paris Saint-Germain has seen several youth products depart the club over the years. One that has gone on to see individual and team success at the highest level is Kingsley Coman.

The 24-year-old left for Juventus FC in 2014 and now is with FC Bayern Munich. The topic of Coman came back to light after his lone goal in the UEFA Champions League final gave the Bavarian club the victory over PSG last summer.

Nearly seven years after his decision to leave the capital club, the Bayern Munich forward spoke about his departure from PSG in an interview with Onze Mondial (via Canal Supporters). From Coman’s comments, it seems as though he holds ill will towards people who don’t work for the French giants anymore.

However, the France international wants to set the record straight that his comments aren’t to tarnish PSG but explain his situation. Despite departing, Les Parisiens remain the club that he adores, but Coman remains adamant that his decision to leave was the correct one.

“If the club is higher today, it is also because there are people who were in place at the time and who are no longer there today. They hired more competent people than in my time,” Coman said.

“It really bothered me when they said I spoke badly about PSG because it is my club of heart. I was just telling my situation at the time, that’s all. And I made the right choice to leave Paris.”
