French Media Outlet Reports on the Issue Between Mauricio Pochettino and Rafinha

In Paris Saint-Germain’s loss to AS Monaco, one of the criticisms that manager Mauricio Pochettino saw was over him not relying on Rafinha.

The Argentine tactician made the call not to start him for the match and, for some, waited too long to substitute the 28-year-old in, considering he saw minutes after the second Monaco goal.

Rafinha sat on the bench for the fixtures against FC Barcelona in the first-leg and Le Classique when the capital club took on Olympique de Marseille. His last appearance came earlier this month, on February 3rd versus Nîmes Olympique.

While some supporters want to see more of Rafinha, it doesn’t seem that Pochettino has any interest in making that move. According to Le Parisien, several club sources state that the 48-year-old isn’t a fan of Rafinha’s.

However, the French media outlet does point out that although Pochettino might not be rate Rafinha, it doesn’t mean that the Brazil international can’t change his manager’s opinion about him. Le Parisien uses Moussa Sissoko as an example.

In 2016-17, Pochettino’s first season with Tottenham Hotspur, Sissoko only made 12 starts in 34 games. Nonetheless, by 2018, he was a crucial part of Pochettino’s squad as he started 39 of 44 matches.
