Bernat Hopes to Return to Action With PSG by the ‘End of March or Early April’

Paris Saint-Germain left-back Juan Bernat has set a timetable for when he could possibly return to action with the team.

Bernat is still rehabbing and recovering from the ACL injury that he suffered earlier this season. The Spanish defender underwent reconstructive surgery on his knee and is currently in the final stages of his rehab process.

Bernat is not yet ready to return to the pitch, but he could be back in time for the last months of the season.

The Spanish full-back spoke to PSG TV about his injury and his aim to soon return to action.

“I feel good,” Bernat said. “We are already at the end of my recovery. We hope that at the end of March or early April, I will be with the group.”

Bernat has not featured in training as of late, but he is impressed by the sessions that new manager Mauricio Pochettino has held early on.

“Yes, we have a new coach, a great coach,” Bernat said. “Right now I think the job he’s doing is good. They train a lot.

“The truth is, teammates usually finish workouts very tired. They train a lot. I have to come back in good condition, otherwise, it will be difficult for me. But I hope all is well with the new coach and the new staff.”

Bernat will certainly have to work his way back up when he returns to action considering that not only is he currently absent from PSG’s UEFA Champions League knockout stage squad list but is likely behind Layvin Kurzawa and Mitchel Bakker in the team’s depth chart at the left-back position.
