Paris Saint-Germain blew a second half lead in its away Ligue 1 fixture against Lorient, as the French powerhouse fell by a 3-2 final score. Still, PSG midfielder Angel Di Maria has an optimistic viewpoint following this result for the side.
PSG’s fixture against Lorient was marred by several errors, especially on the final two goals that it allowed in the second half. It surely was a frustrating fixture for the reigning Ligue 1 champions as PSG was just minutes away from clinching the win. But instead, PSG watched as Lorient celebrated one of its biggest wins in years.
Di Maria is not all down and gloomy following this disappointing result for PSG. Instead, he is looking ahead to improving as a unit over the ongoing campaign.
Di Maria (via PSG TV) provided his thoughts on the result and where PSG stands at the moment.
“I don’t think we played very well, we made some errors and they were able to take advantage of them,” Di Maria said. Those things can happen in football.
“We need to carry on working now. I think what’s most important is to push forward and fight for the title. I think we just have to keep on improving. We’ve got other games, for us the best thing to do is to get back to winning ways carry on going forward and improving.”
With the result, PSG dropped to third place in the league standings.
