A few weeks ago, Gazzetta dello Sport (via Foot Mercatoreported that Paris Saint-Germain forward Ángel Di María could be talking to Atalanta BC midfielder Alejandro Darío Gómez, known as Papu Gómez to join Les Parisiens.

Furthermore, the Italian media outlet has added that the 32-year-old is a player that Leonardo, PSG’s sporting director, has appreciated for several years. With the winter transfer window set to open, Gómez is a name that could depart from his club, and the capital club monitors the situation.

In an interview with L’Eco di Bergamo (via Sky Sport), Atalanta president Antonio Percassi spoke about the future of Gómez ahead of the transfer window opening.

“We have already talked enough about the Papu case. The subject is closed for me. Period,” Percassi said.

Inter Milan, AC Milan, and AS Roma, along with PSG, are reportedly interested in the midfielder. Gazzetta Dello Sport (via Culture PSG) also states that La Dea is looking for €10-million in a potential sale of the Argentina international.

Gómez is under contract until 2022 and is a cheap option for PSG, and could work out a deal with Atalanta, who wants to sell him after having a rift with manager Gian Piero Gasperini this campaign.
