Video: ‘It Is Important for Him to Have Scored’ – Pochettino Comments on the Performance of Icardi Against Brest

The new Paris Saint Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino made his debut at the Parc des Princes, with a triumphant 3-0 win against Stade Brestois.

Despite scoring three goals, the capital club struggled through significant parts of the match to distance themselves from Les Pirates after the Moise Kean goal.

However, Pochettino did make a substitution that turned the tide of the matchup when he brought in Mauro Icardi. The 27-year-old played 25 minutes and scored the second goal, and assisted on the third one.

The Argentine coach spoke after the game at a press conference about Kylian Mbappé and Mauro Icardi.

“Yes, Mbappé did good things. He had chances,” Pochettino said. “It’s a shame he didn’t score a goal, but I think he played a good game. Step by step for Mauro, slowly he is returning from injury, he is coming back to the group. It is important for him to have scored. But for him, as for the others, you have to be ready as soon as they are on the ground.”
