Video: ‘I Am Still a Big Fan of PSG’ – Matuidi Opens up About the Love He Has for His Former Club

Blaise Matuidi spent six seasons with Paris Saint-Germain before departing for Juventus FC in 2017. The 33-year-old is spending the twilight of his career with Inter Miami of Major League Soccer.

Nonetheless, the France international still keeps track of his former club and was happy to see Les Parisiens break through and reach the UEFA Champions League final, despite falling short in the loss to FC Bayern Munich.

Regardless of where Matuidi goes and who he may play for, the capital club remains his favorite, as he stated in an interview with Téléfoot

“I am still a big fan of PSG. I was pleased and happy to see that PSG took the leap in the Champions League by going to the final. It is not given to everyone. It bodes well for the future. I think the project is moving forward, and knowing the president (Nasser al-Khelaïfi), it will not stop there. His dream is to win it,” Matuidi said.

“Very moved when I left? Yes, because it’s my favorite club, I’ve always dreamed of wearing the PSG jersey. [Paris] is my city; my dream has come true. I won the love of Parisians. And even today, when I cross the streets, there is always a nice little note, and that makes you happy.”
