Since Neymar Jr. departed from FC Barcelona, the Spanish club has endured a downward spiral that has resulted in embarrassing defeats over the last few years in the UEFA Champions League competition.
Despite the Brazil international departing, Barcelona has been able to keep their league form as they twice won La Liga since 2017. However, this year the club is solely trying to stay within the top four Champions League spots as they’re currently battling to maintain themselves in that place of the table.
Furthermore, with Lionel Messi’s rumors of possibly departing, some Barcelona presidential candidates are stating that they’ll try and go after Neymar to convince their superstar to stay. Nonetheless, such a move for the Paris Saint-Germain superstar won’t go over well with the club members, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The Spanish media outlet conducted a poll in which 50.5% of Barcelona members would not sign Neymar, 24.5% would accept it if it is economically acceptable and those in charge ask for him, and only 5.5% at any price.
Furthermore, those opposed to the Brazil international’s return 66.7% of members aged between 50 and 64 rejected bringing him back to the club. Meanwhile, 59.2% of those above the age of 65 were opposed to the idea of Neymar returning.
