Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Rafinha has missed all three fixtures under new manager Mauricio Pochettino due to a positive coronavirus test. But now, he is slowly working his way to returning to action with the team.
RMC Sport’s Loic Tanzi notes that the Brazilian midfielder returned to training on Friday but did not appear with the rest of his teammates. Instead, he trained alone, which is a promising sign as he works his way to returning to in-game action.
However, PSG did rule Rafinha out from its upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against Angers.
So, the focus for the midfielder turns to whether he may be available for the team’s next league fixture against Montpellier. This next match is set for Jan. 22, which would at the least make Rafinha a likely candidate to feature in it, as the 14-day self-isolation period would be up by then.
As PSG did with the multitude of other players who tested positive for coronavirus earlier this season, the club will follow the set health protocols before clearing Rafinha for in-game action.
