Over the last few years, Paris Saint-Germain has tried various combinations to fix their midfield. The capital club has never replaced Thiago Motta and Blaise Matuidi, who have long left the club, but their absence continues to linger as they have yet to replace them.
It’s not for the lack of trying as Les Parisiens had various players attempt to fill those roles and play alongside Marco Verratti, but no one has yet risen to the occasion. Newly appointed manager Mauricio Pochettino will take a crack at putting together a midfield that rivaled the one PSG had in the 2010s.
Le10Sport reports that the reigning Ligue 1 champions are looking at Stade Brestois’ Romain Faivre as a possible piece to their midfield puzzle. The 22-year-old has started 18 of the 19 fixtures he’s appeared in and is averaging 81 minutes per game for Les Pirates.
The France international’s transfer value sits at €8-million per Transgermarkt. It’s an economical purchase and answers the call that many supporters have wanted when it comes to PSG looking to acquire talent within Ligue 1.
Faivre having a quality season with Brestois has not only caught the eye of the capital club, but according to Le10Sport, Manchester United FC is also monitoring the situation.
