Paris Saint-Germain may be in a grand transfer battle with multiple teams for Sporting CP prospect Nuno Mendes.
Among them, Real Madrid and Liverpool are two teams that are showing interest in acquiring the 18-year-old versatile talent, according to a report from the Spanish-based outlet AS.
Real Madrid is the one side that is monitoring the talent with high interest.
The report adds that Los Blancos will likely be in need of a left-back reinforcement as Marcelo’s final years with Real Madrid are winding down. The Brazilian will be a free agent a year following this season, but the club is already scouring the market for a player who can possibly fill the shoes by being his long-term successor.
PSG will not only have to keep an eye on both Liverpool and Real Madrid as potential competitors for the prospect. The report names Juventus as a possible suitor as well.
Mendes recently came to terms on a contract extension agreement with Sporting CP. The Portuguese talent has become one of the more reliable players on the team with 15 appearances in all competitions this season to go along with two total goal contributions.
The AS report also adds that Mendes’ release clause is currently set for €25 million.
It remains to be seen which team jumps first at attempting to sign Mendes away from his homegrown team.
