Report: Pochettino to Rekindle Interest in Crystal Palace Forward

With Mauricio Pochettino arriving at Paris Saint-Germain, speculation about possible transfer targets that the Argentine tactician could be interested in are beginning to emerge.

One name surfacing that Pochettino might have circled as he assumes the capital club’s managerial role is Wilfried Zaha. The Sun and Goal collaborate the information that AC Milan and Les Parisiens are the latest clubs looking to pursue the 28-year-old.

During his time as the Tottenham Hotspur manager, Pochettino was interested in Zaha, but a deal never materialized. The Crystal Palace FC forward has appeared in 14 Premier League fixtures for The Eagles, where he’s scored eight goals and averaged 89 minutes per game, according to SofaScore

Last year, Zaha mentioned his desire to play UEFA Champions League football, so if he decides to move on from the South London club, there’s no doubt that this will play a factor in his decision.

With the ongoing rumors of Zaha’s departure, Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson spoke with Sky Sport about the continued interest for the forward.

“There has been so much speculation regarding Wilf over the years that I tend to let those concerns disappear, as they often do,” Hodgson said. “Wilf’s good, and it doesn’t surprise me that there are clubs out there who would like to sign him, but a lot of things have to be put in place before a player leaves a club.”

As Ángel Di María’s contract expires in a few months, Pochettino could be looking towards Zaha as a replacement if both players don’t see eye to eye in the squad’s direction.
