Neymar’s Paris Saint-Germain tenure has been marred with injuries in each of his four seasons with the club so far. The Brazilian simply continues to be on the wrong end with injuries, whether due to a harsh challenge from an opponent or with a non-contact injury.
A report from ESPN went in-depth about Neymar’s career so far with the club. From the report, there is new information into how those within the club are taking extra steps to be more cautious with the forward’s health.
According to the report, new PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino is working with Neymar to come up with a “plan” that would help him avoid any more long-term injuries.
The report did not go into great detail about just what Pochettino is devising with Neymar, but it did add that the Argentine manager wants Neymar to be “fitter and more available” for the team. Neymar is doing his part as he employs a chef at home that regularly makes “the right foods” for him.
The good news for the club is that the two have a formidable relationship so far. The two understand each other and are on good terms, per the report.
Overall, Pochettino is looking out for Neymar as he does not want to head into any pivotal fixture this season without his star forward due to an injury.
