Paris Saint-Germain prospect Xavi Simons still has not yet made his official debut for the first-team, but this could come soon under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
RMC Sport‘s Loic Tanzi notes that midfield prospects Simons and Edouard Michut are expected to be included in the team’s squad list for the upcoming fixture against AS Saint-Etienne. The two midfielders trained with the team this week and are eligible to feature in this fixture.
As mentioned, Simons has not yet played a single minute for PSG’s first-team. Former PSG manager Thomas Tuchel did select Simons in the squad list for two fixtures earlier this season during the team’s injury crisis. However, the Dutch talent remained on the bench for both fixtures.
Simons has played for PSG but in an international friendly fixture. He played in PSG’s 1-0 friendly win against Sochaux last year.
Michut is in the same standing as Simons. The midfield prospect is still without an appearance for PSG’s first-team but did appear in the friendly against Sochaux.
With PSG being without nine players due to injury, Pochettino could provide the pair with playing time soon.
