Report: Pochettino Could Play a Key Role in Preventing Paredes from Leaving Over the Winter Transfer Window

The winter transfer window has already begun, and as usual, Paris Saint-Germain has been in the rumor mill regarding possible permanent and loan deals. The club is also being linked with a departure from midfielder Leandro Paredes. However, there could be one roadblock that may prevent the midfielder from leaving the team.

A report from the Italian-based outlet TuttoMercatoWeb notes that new PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino is a fan of Paredes. The report adds that Pochettino has been following Paredes since the midfielder’s days at AS Roma. More so, the Argentine manager’s early impressions of Paredes could possibly be key in the midfielder staying with the team following the conclusion of the ongoing winter window.

The report also mentions the now regular rumor of Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen possibly joining PSG. Eriksen is leaning towards either a move to PSG or the Premier League, but for the moment, Pochettino is not all-in on bringing his former midfielder to PSG.

Eriksen has been longed rumored for a possible swap deal that would see Paredes join Inter Milan. But for now, this remains a rumor with not much traction to it.
