Report: Navas a Doubt for PSG’s Upcoming Ligue 1 Fixture Against Lorient

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas left the team’s recent Ligue 1 fixture against Montpellier at halftime. The substitution was a sudden one as Navas did not suffer any notable injury during the match.

PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino remarked following the match that he elected to sub off Navas as a simple precaution. Navas took on a blow during warmups and PSG’s coaching staff decided that it was best for the Costa Rican goalkeeper to not finish off the match.

For the moment, Navas remains a doubt for PSG’s upcoming league match against Lorient but is expected to be part of the team’s squad list, according to a report from L’Equipe.

The report notes that Navas did not train earlier this week.

For now, PSG will be closely monitoring his status and come to a decision soon on whether he is fit enough to face Lorient.

Navas has totaled for 16 appearances in league play this season to go along with 10 clean sheets recorded.
