Report: Mbappe Has Major Doubts Over Real Madrid’s Sporting Project

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe gave his long-awaited verdict on where he currently stands with his future at the club. Following his two-goal performance against Montpellier, Mbappe mentioned that while he has not yet made his final decision on whether to sign a new contract extension, such a deal is on his mind.

“We are discussing with the club,” Mbappe said. “I am thinking about it because it is a signing. If I sign, it is to invest myself in the long term in Paris Saint-Germain.”

Real Madrid is the one powerhouse European club that has been heavily linked with Mbappe. But the French forward is contemplating signing a contract extension deal with one reason being his concerns with the La Liga side.

According to a report from the Spanish-based outlet AS, Mbappe has doubts over Real Madrid’s sporting project.

The report notes that Mbappe is raising a red flag over the club’s loss of significant players over the years coupled with its inability to find ideal replacements for them. He is concerned with how Los Blancos’ board has struggled to build a formidable winning team as of late.

More so, there is new information that Mbappe’s father, Wilfried Mbappe, would not have a problem with the forward taking less in salary to sign with Real Madrid.

Mbappe’s father believes that with the money that could be garnered from potential advertising contracts following a move to Real Madrid, this would make up the difference that may come with electing to sign for less with the Spanish side.

The saga between PSG and Mbappe will only continue to play on until the forward reaches a final decision, whether to sign a new deal or leave for another club.
