PSG Rules Out Five Players from Upcoming Ligue 1 Fixture Against Lorient

Paris Saint-Germain is facing yet another minor injury bug in its ongoing campaign. But this one is not as significant as with the previous others from earlier this season.

PSG elected to rule out five players from its upcoming Ligue 1 fixture against Lorient, the club announced on its official website.

As expected, both Marco Verratti and Abdou Diallo were scratched off from the team’s squad list for this upcoming match following their positive coronavirus tests. The two are for the moment not expected to feature in the team’s next two league matches against Nimes and Olympique de Marseille as a result of their positive test.

Marquinhos and Keylor Navas each suffered minor injuries last weekend.

Navas took on a knock during warmups before PSG’s fixture against Montpellier. The Costa Rican goalkeeper went on to start in the match but was subbed off at halftime as a simple precaution. PSG now notes that Navas is dealing with a slight stomach injury but is expected to be back in training next week.

For Marquinhos, he was subbed off in the early stages of the second half during the recent Montpellier fixture. PSG is ruling that the Brazilian has a right thigh injury, but as with Navas, he is slated to be back in training next week.

Ander Herrera is still dealing with a slight muscle issue but will return to collective training in the coming days.

PSG should have the latter three talents available for next week’s major league clash against Marseille.
