PSG Mercato: Neymar Now in ‘Advanced Talks’ With Paris for a New Contract Extension Deal

Among the contract dilemmas that Paris Saint-Germain will have over the upcoming summer transfer window will include Neymar’s contract situation. The Brazilian star is slated to become a free agent a year following this season. But there continues to be traction between the two sides towards a new contract extension deal.

Neymar and PSG are now in ‘advanced talks’ for a new contract extension agreement, according to a report from Il Giornale‘s Nicolo Schira.

The two sides are said to be aiming to come to terms on a deal that would see the Brazilian commit to a long-term contract. They are working to reach an agreement on such a deal in the coming weeks, per the report.

For PSG sporting director Leonardo, he has already spoken about his ambition to sign Neymar on a new contract extension. Leonardo mentioned to France Football that he is in regular contact with Neymar in regard to contract talks but will not “beg” the Brazilian star to stay.

On Neymar’s part, he has also touched upon his desire to extend his stay with PSG.

In the big picture, both sides want to come to a new agreement but in the end, Neymar’s future with the club will be resolved once he officially signs a new contract.
