PSG Mercato: Mauricio Pochettino Comments on Paris SG’s Possible Interest in Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos

Lionel Messi isn’t the only player from Spain that Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly interested in going after this summer. According to reports, the capital club is engaging in talks with Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.

Furthermore, El Transistor has reported that the Parisiens have made a three-year contract offer with an annual salary of €15-million. As a result, when PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino spoke with Marca, the Spanish media outlet asked about their interest in the 34-year-old.

“Would you like to have a leader like Ramos on your team? After a month, I met players with outstanding leadership. Adults can play and live together in different projects and cultures, but I am very respectful,” Pochettino said.

“We will see that in the coming months. Here, Ramos would find a great club with the obsession always to win, PSG one of the greatest in the world.”

Ramos could make an excellent short term solution if the Spain international is content with being the third center-back on the depth chart. The two starter roles belong to Marquinhos and Presnel Kimpembe; however, the quality takes a dip after those two.

Abdou Diallo and Thilo Kehrer don’t install confidence if Marquinhos or Kimpembe have to miss a fixture, whether it’s for a day off or injury purposes. Furthermore, as Pochettino stated, having Ramos on the squad does bring added leadership and UEFA Champions League experience, which is a welcome addition to any team.
