PSG Mercato: Klopp Working Behind the Scenes to Help Convince Mbappe to Join Liverpool

Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe may be in line for one of the most anticipated summer transfer sagas in years.

The French forward currently remains conflicted over whether to stay on with PSG. The PSG star recently noted that he is giving consideration to signing a new contract extension deal with the club, but so far, he has not yet provided a public declaration on his final decision.

In the meantime, other powerhouse European clubs are closely monitoring Mbappe’s contract dilemma with PSG. Among those has been Real Madrid, who remain on the outside looking in even with its current financial uncertainties.

On the other hand, another suitor may soon climb above Real Madrid to become the clear-cut top contender to sign Mbappe if he aspires to cut short his run with PSG.

A report from the CANAL+ program “Late Football Club” made mention that behind the scenes, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is ‘pressing’ Mbappe’s entourage over the possibility to bring the French star to Anfield.

Klopp wants to bring Mbappe to Liverpool but is not the only one working overtime to possibly make this move an eventual reality.

The report adds that Liverpool’s versatile talent Fabinho is in talks with Mbappe and is putting in a word on why he should leave PSG for Liverpool.

The two have remained in contact ever since their time as teammates while with French club AS Monaco, where they helped the side win Ligue 1 over the 2016-2017 season.

Liverpool’s reported aspiration to sign Mbappe on a possible blockbuster mega transfer move is not relatively new. A report from L’Equipe last year made mention that the Reds have plans to pursue the French superstar over the upcoming summer window.

Thus, Mbappe may likely have a trio of top options for where he could play football at next season. Each one certainly has its own convincing case for Mbappe.
