Former Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel is now at the helm of Chelsea FC as the German tactician tries to steer The Blues ship in the right direction.
With only a few days left in the winter transfer window, Tuchel won’t have enough time to request reinforcements. Nonetheless, these next few months will allow him to see how he can mold the squad to his vision.
Regardless of whose on the squad, Eurosport is beginning to speculate the players that Tuchel might request over the summer and one name on that list is capital club captain Marquinhos.
“Chelsea pursued [Marquinhos] heavily in 2015 and have continued to track him in case he ever became available,” Eurosport wrote.
“A deal would seem difficult, given he is one of PSG’s most influential players and has previously stated he could stay for the rest of his career, but Tuchel’s use of him took the player to very high levels.”
One of the players that grew during the Tuchel era for Les Parisiens was the 26-year-old. Marquinhos proved to be the versatile leader that could play as a central defender and defensive midfielder, no questions asked.
A Marquinhos departure seems unlikely, but it won’t stop Tuchel and Chelsea from inquiring about the Brazil international this summer.
