PSG Defender Kehrer Tests Positive for Coronavirus

Paris Saint-Germain defender Thilo Kehrer has tested positive for the coronavirus, the club announced on its official Twitter account.

Kehrer was among the players who PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino picked for the squad list for the Ligue 1 home fixture against Brest. However, the German defender was not among the players selected for the starting 11 for this contest, so Pochettino did not have to make a last-minute change to the lineup.

Kehrer last featured for PSG in the team’s league fixture against AS Saint-Etienne. He played in the entire game and went on to also take part in the team’s training sessions over the week.

For now, Kehrer will be subjected to a self-isolation period, which could include being away from the team for a 14-day period. He will also follow the set health protocols before being eligible to return to training sessions with the rest of his teammates.

PSG’s league fixture against Brest will proceed on.
