‘I Think It’s a Joke’ – French Football Journalist Calls Out Barça for Their Hypocrisy Regarding PSG’s Public Comments on Lionel Messi

Over the past few days, FC Barcelona presidential candidate Joan Laporta has voiced his displeasure over Paris Saint-Germain commenting publicly about Lionel Messi possibly arriving in the French capital.

Nonetheless, Laporta isn’t alone; other people within the Spanish club feel the same way. However, the 58-year-old is the most vocal about the situation. Regardless, plenty of other clubs’ supporters feel as though this is Barça receiving a taste of its own medicine.

In the past, Barça representatives have openly talked about Neymar Jr. and the probability of the Brazil international returning to the Catalan club.

Every month it seemed that either a representative or player talked about Neymar, who is under contract and doesn’t have the option to leave on a free transfer this summer, which is Messi’s situation.

Furthermore, Barça is known for destabilizing players and having them force a move to their club. Philippe Coutinho and Ousmane Dembélé are recent examples of this method.

RMC Sport journalist Mohamed Bouhafsi is beginning to be annoyed by the hypocrisy that Barça shows when the shoe is on the other foot, as Foot01 relayed his statement.

“I think it’s a joke, and that it’s been years of Barça disrespect. Mundo Deportivo and Sport and all these “Unes” pushed by Barcelona management. A year and a half ago, when Neymar wanted to leave Paris, every day the leaders of Barça granted interviews to these newspapers,” Bouhafsi said.

“Every day with little words that they could bring Neymar back and make the offer, and it never happened. I find all this demagogue, there are 1.2 billion losses at FC Barcelona, so before dealing with the state of Qatar, we should perhaps review the rules.”
