‘He Wants to Be Closer to the PSG Supporters’ – Brazilian Journalist on Neymar Wanting to Improve His Relationship With Paris SG Fans

After the Paris Saint-Germain ultras and supporters welcomed Neymar Jr. in 2017 at the Parce des Prince, the relationship has had its peaks and valleys. Once the honeymoon period wore off, the 28-year-old attempted to engineer a move back to FC Barcelona.

Neymar received boos upon returning to action to start the 2019-20 Ligue 1 season. Furthermore, there was an incident in which the ultras put a banner that advised his father to sell him into prostitution in a Rio favela.

Despite the tension between the supporters and Neymar in 2019, it seems as though fences are mending. Last season the Brazil international played a part in helping the capital club reach its first UEFA Champions League final, and he appears to be embracing the French capital.

In an interview with Europe 1 (via Canal Supporters), Brazilian journalist Isabela Pagliari commented on Neymar wanting to get closer to the supporters. With the 28-year-old writing his history with Les Parisiens, Pagliari states that she wants to embrace the club and city.

“Neymar is becoming increasingly part of the history of PSG. It’s important to note that he wants to be closer to the PSG supporters,” Pagliari said. “He tries to banter Marseille as soon as there is a Clasico, for example. Before, he was more discreet about all that.”
