Former PSG Manager Luis Fernandez Predicts That Mbappe Will Stay On With the Club

Former Paris Saint-Germain manager and player Luis Fernandez is predicting that Kylian Mbappe will end up committing to staying with the French powerhouse club.

Mbappe is soon slated to face a grand decision regarding his future with PSG. The French forward could elect to sign a new contract extension deal with the club or elect to leave over the upcoming summer transfer window.

However, Fernandez sees that Mbappe should stay with PSG because the club has what he needs to win. Fernandez notes the team’s recent domestic and European success to go along with the star-studded cast that Mbappe is surrounded with.

Fernandez spoke to the Spanish-based station Onda Cero on Mbappe’s future with PSG and why he is going all out with his prediction that the forward will end up staying at the club.

“If they want to sell Mbappé, which club would be able to pay for his transfer and his salary?” Fernandez said. “PSG are closer to their goal; they have just played a Champions League final against Bayern. And this season, if things go well with Pochettino, that he gets all his players back, that there is a good environment.

“When you look at the other teams, and when you see players like Icardi, Neymar, Di Maria, Sarabia, Verratti, Paredes… there are people. It may help him stay. I don’t see him leaving, he will wait until the situation improves elsewhere.”

Mbappe has already established a legacy with PSG and could add to it if he elects to sign a new contract extension agreement.
