Video: ‘We Had a Few Chances, but We Couldn’t Score’ – Marquinhos Shows Frustration for Lack of Goals in Draw to Lille

After overcoming a sore hip, Marquinhos was back in the starting eleven for Paris Saint-Germain’s match against Lille OSC. The capital club defender missed the clashes against Olympique Lyonnais and FC Lorient.

However, Marquinhos managed a good performance during the draw against LOSC. The PSG captain successfully stopped the Lille attackers with the help of his teammate Presnel Kimpembe who made a key saving goal in the 79th minute.

Marquinhos declared to PSG TV that he regrets that his teammates have not materialized their dominance with a goal.

“He missed this goal to calm us down, to give us this victory that we deserved. We had to be more aggressive to have this creation. We had a few chances, but we couldn’t score today. We controlled the game, the Lille team put us in difficulty, but they defended low,” Tuchel said.

“They tried to counteract. And we, we tried to analyze when we had the ball to stop these counterattacks immediately. They must not reach our goals. They were strategies put in place. I think we achieved ours. We only needed this goal.”
