Paris Saint-Germain ended 2020 with a 4-0 win beat RC Strasbourg as the capital club heads into the holiday break on a positive note.
Manager Thomas Tuchel took to the microphone with Canal Plus, discussing the PSG victory to close out the year.
“It’s a great Christmas present. We have achieved a very strong performance in the last two matches of a very, very long year 2020. A very demanding year, and today, I’m very happy we deserved to win,” Tuchel said.
“We had a lot of people who were absent and injured. There was a team with a lot of change, but we played very seriously, very disciplined, and very strongly.”
The next topic that the German tactician touched is over his thoughts on Les Parisiens heading into the holiday break in third place.
Although Tuchel respects the opposition, he states that PSG finds itself in this situation because of the number of points they’ve dropped.
“For us, this competition is not a good thing. There is always competition, but we have lost too many points. It is our responsibility. There are a lot of reasons, but we have talked a lot about these things. The most complicated period since my arrival? No,” Tuchel said.
“We know the reasons for this situation. We have our responsibilities. I’m very happy with what the team has done in the last two matches. They are able to play like that. It’s a good time to take a rest.”
