Video: ‘I Want to Wish You Lots of Courage’ – Neymar Heartfelt Message to 11-Year-Old Footballer Who Dealt With Racism

During the 2020-21 season, Neymar Jr. has been in two different racial incidents.

In September, he accused Olympique de Marseille defender Álvaro González where he accused the Spain international of using a racial slur. The next incident occurred a few weeks ago.

Neymar and the entire Paris Saint-Germain squad walked off the pitch alongside their UEFA Champions League opponent İstanbul Başakşehir after their assistant coach accused the fourth referee of using a racial slur towards him.

The reason for mentioning this is because the 28-year-old used the power of social media to send a video, where RMC Sport relayed his comments to an 11-year-old boy who dealt with racism during a football tournament in Neymar’s native Brazil.

I saw that you had experienced an unpleasant and sad situation. Unfortunately, we went through this kind of thing which no longer applies today,” Neymar said. “I want to wish you lots of courage, I hope you don’t give up what you love to do, which is to play football.”
