Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Angel Di Maria will be among several current talents on the team who will become free agents next year. These such players will have the ability to sign with any team without the interested club having to post a transfer fee to acquire the talent. Di Maria has made mention of his desire to stay on with PSG, but his future with the club remains unclear as he still has not signed a contract extension deal.
Former French goalkeeper Jerome Alonzo does not necessarily believe that such a contract extension deal should be a significant priority for the club. He spoke further about this matter to L’Equipe d’Estelle.
👉 Di Maria est-il toujours indispensable au PSG ?
Pour Jérôme Alonzo, "si Di Maria s'en va, ce n'est pas dramatique" #EDE @lachainelequipe pic.twitter.com/cdq0Jl2QcW

“If Di Maria goes next June it will not be dramatic,” Alonzo said. “This will free up [payroll] for another player. And then he did his job. At the moment, he’s declining and I’m not sure he’s always happy to be there. Whether he still wants to put in the effort when the others don’t, I’m not sure. For me, and in the current system, Di Maria is not essential.”
It will be interesting to see whether Di Maria will sign a new deal with PSG.
