New Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has pinpointed Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli as one player who he would like the club’s board to sign, according to a report from Le10Sport.
The report touched on Pochettino’s request to PSG’s board for a possible transfer move for Alli. The request was made when the Argentine was negotiating with PSG over the possibility of taking over for Thomas Tuchel as its new manager.
Pochettino does not only view Alli as a potential signing but has also singled him out as a transfer “priority.” Pochettino managed the midfielder for several seasons at Tottenham.
For PSG to complete such a deal, whether a permanent move or a loan one, the club would have to part ways with multiple players. The report makes note of Julian Draxler, who is slated to become a free agent at the end of this season.
Alli has been linked with PSG as of late, but more for a loan move rather than a permanent transfer agreement. For one, a report over the summer transfer window noted that Tottenham rejected a loan offer from PSG for the midfielder.
The English international has struggled to garner playing time this season, with much of his minutes coming in Europa League play. He has not been a regular for Tottenham in Premier League play so far this season.
