New Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino has pinpointed Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli as one key player that he would like the club’s board to sign, according to a report from Le10Sport.
The report makes note of Pochettino’s personal request to PSG’s board of the possible transfer signing of Alli. This was made when the Argentine was negotiating with the club over the possibility of taking over for Thomas Tuchel as the new manager. The former Tottenham manager does not only view Alli as a potential signing but has signaled him out as a transfer “priority” as for one, Pochettino did manage the midfielder for several seasons during his time with the Premier League side.
For PSG to complete such a deal, whether in a permanent transfer move or loan one, the club would have to part ways with several players. The report makes note of Julian Draxler for example, who is slated to become a free agent at the end of this season.
Alli has already been linked with PSG as of late, but more for a loan move rather than a permanent transfer agreement. For one, a report over the summer transfer window made mention of how Tottenham rejected a loan offer from PSG for the midfielder.
The English international has struggled to garner playing time this season with much of his minutes coming in Europa League play. He has not been a regular in Premier League play over the first half of the season.
