Report: Pochettino Asked for PSG’s Board to Push to Sign Two Key Real Madrid Players Over the Upcoming Winter Transfer Window

New Paris Saint-Germain manager Mauricio Pochettino may have joined the club at the right time. For one, the winter transfer window is a week away from opening up in which clubs across the continent will have the opportunity to sign players on permanent transfer moves or loan deals. And for Pochettino, he reportedly has two targets in mind already.

Pochettino wants PSG’s board to push to sign Real Madrid talents Isco and Marcelo over the upcoming winter window, according to a report from the Spanish-based outlet Todofichajes. The report notes that in early discussions with PSG sporting director Leonardo, he pinpointed these two talents as possible players who he would prefer the club to go out and sign over the winter window.

In the case that the club does push for one or both potential moves, PSG would go on to lean towards loan deals that come with a purchase option.

Isco and Marcelo both have contracts that will be up a year following this season. Both have not been regulars for Real Madrid this season as their minutes have dwindled to merely receiving playing time off the bench.

PSG may be in need of depth reinforcements over the upcoming winter window, but it remains to be seen whether the club will push to sign either of these two talents.
