Report: Messi Has Held No Talks With Barça, PSG, or Other Clubs Interested in Him; Intention Remains to Leave

When Neymar Jr. made it known that he’d like to play with former FC Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi, all eyes shifted to the 33-year-old, and his decision would be since his contract expires at the end of the season.

Barça currently finds itself fifth in the La Liga table and will be taking on Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16. As a result, the rumors of Messi heading to the French capital will be topic number one as the matchup inches closer.

Despite all the noise coming from Spanish and French media, the Argentina international hasn’t held talks with anyone over his future.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the forward hasn’t discussed what he plans to do once his contract expires and neither Barça nor the clubs that are reportedly interested have talked with him.

It’s why Messi’s dad and agent, Jorge Messi, has come out through social media to deny any rumors of meetings. However, even with no talks occurring, the Spanish media outlet speculates that Messi intends to leave Barça.
