FC Barcelona presidential candidate Victor Font made it clear that Neymar Jr. has no place with the Spanish club due to his wages and the way he left in 2017 during an interview with RAC1. However, there is one Paris Saint-Germain player that Font has his eyes on for Barça.
According to Onda Cero (via Canal Supporters), Font has made it known that if he wins the election and becomes Barcelona’s next president, Bernat will be one of the players he will target.
The 27-year-old’s contract expires at the end of the 2020-21 season. If Bernat and Les Parisiens can’t agree on a contract extension, then he could arrive at Barça on a free transfer.
With the emergence of Mitchel Bakker, it will be interesting to see how far in contract talks the capital club decides to go with Bernat. There’s also the case in which Bernat wants to go to Barça too and will see out his contract.
Nonetheless, a season can never go by without Barcelona having an interest in a PSG player.
