Paris Saint-Germain’s roller-coaster Ligue 1 season has continued as the team dropped all three points to Olympique Lyonnais on matchday 14. An early Presnel Kimpembe error was all that Lyon needed to clinch a 1-0 win over PSG and leapfrog Thomas Tuchel’s side into second place in the league standings. And as a result, PSG has dropped to third place following matchday 14.

The fixture is surely one that PSG will want to forget for two reasons.
Tuchel’s side struggled to create any serious goal-scoring chances over the fixture. PSG finished with just one shot on target in the match. This performance did not resemble at all the free-flowing showing that the club displayed in its recent UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against Istanbul Basaksehir.
More so, the overall performance of PSG was marred by Neymar’s late ankle injury. The Brazilian took on a harsh foul from Lyon midfielder Thiago Mendes. He was later stretchered off the pitch as a result.
