Paris Saint-Germain had a grand year in 2020. The French side won yet another domestic-treble and made an appearance in the UEFA Champions League final for the first time in the club’s history.
One would have presumed that with both team and individual success, Neymar and even Kylian Mbappe would have been well represented in The Best FIFA Football Awards 2020. But this was not the case.
The two PSG stars did not finish in the top five for The Best FIFA Men’s Player 2020 award; Mbappe and Neymar finished seventh and ninth respectively.

More so, neither player was voted to be in FIFA’s FIFPro Men’s World 11 team.
Neymar was certainly not pleased about the selection. On Instagram, the Brazilian sarcastically commented “PSG played a different sport” under a post that referenced the full team selection.

In the final vote ranking for the forward portion of the team, Mbappe and Neymar finished fifth and sixth respectively.

Both players should be serious contenders for the final team selection next year.

How Neymar is even in the top 10 is baffling. Farmers league and injuries – nope.
