Paris Saint-Germain came away with a difficult 1-0 loss against FC Bayern Munich in the 2020 UEFA Champions League Final. The scoreline was not indicative of the game itself. PSG had multiple chances to come away with a goal, but in the end, it was Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer who put together one of the biggest performances of his career.

Neymar and Mbappe had grand goal-scoring opportunities in the fixture, but PSG ended up failing to hit the back of the net.

For Neuer, it was a grand showing from him. He recently spoke (via Sport Bild) about his crucial performance against PSG.

“The saves against Neymar and Mbappe in the first half certainly were special,” Neuer said. “It was like the 2014 World Cup final, you are only sure when the referee blows the final whistle, all the pressure falls off and you can believe you did it.”

Neuer recorded three saves in the final. And while he did not take home Champions League man of the match honors, it certainly was among the most impressive showings by a goalkeeper in the final in recent years.
