Lyon Goalkeeper Looks Back on his Flop That Earned Neymar a Yellow Card During Recent Fixture

Olympique Lyonnais came away with a 1-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in their recent encounter. The fixture was most notable due to Neymar suffering an injury during it, but Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes had one comedic lowlight earlier in the game.

Lopes took on a foul by Neymar in the penalty box and after being bumped by the forward, he decided to roll on the ground. But it was not just one or two rolls for Lopes. Instead, he was quite a bit extra after being slightly fouled.

Lopes spoke to RMC Sport about the sequence during the fixture. The French goalkeeper did allude that he was a bit extra in his reaction after taking on the foul.

“There’s one, two, three, four, five [rolls], yeah, there’s quite a bit,” Lopes said. “I admit that I have 10/10 in an artistic note, it’s pretty good, isn’t it?

“We laugh about it, but at the time I really hurt myself.”

Lopes’ reaction did essentially work to his benefit, as Neymar earned a yellow card for the foul. And while Lopes did make mention of being hurt from the foul, he did not suffer a significant injury as he ended up finishing the game.
