he 2020-21 season has gone up and down for Paris Saint-Germain, whether it’s in domestic or European competition. One aspect that has struggled all season is the midfield, especially when there’s no Marco Verratti.
Les Parisiens’ manager Thomas Tuchel has used Marquinhos in the midfield at times this season. He’s received criticism for when moving his best defender into the role as a midfielder. Nonetheless, the reason why the German manager hasn’t committed to a midfield all season could be because there isn’t a set group that inspires confidence, according to Canal Plus and Europa 1 Reynald Pedros in an interview with Le Parisien.
Pedros went into detail explaining the qualities that Danilo Pereira and Leandro Paredes bring to the table; however, he mentions that Tuchel doesn’t seem to be satisfied with what they have brought when they’re in the starting eleven.
As Verratti becomes unreliable due to injuries, the German manager will have to somehow get the most out of Danilo and Paredes as the season nears the halfway mark.
