Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappe has been lauded by many current and former players following his landmark 100th career goal with the club. After going a couple of games without scoring a goal, Mbappe finally notched his 100th goal with the club during a recent Ligue 1 away fixture against Montpellier.
In paying homage to Mbappe’s landmark achievement, Telefoot gathered statements from many current and former players about the French forward. Former English international David Beckham was among those lauding the PSG star. Beckham finished his career with PSG over the 2012-2013 season but would have liked to have had the chance to play alongside Mbappe as it would have been one special midfielder and forward duo to watch.
“I would have liked to be still a player now, because to play with a striker like Kylian,” Beckham said. “For me it would’ve been a dream. You put the ball to him anywhere in front and he answers.”
These are high remarks from Beckham as he played alongside several top forwards over his career, including Brazilian striker Ronaldo Nazario. Beckham knows first-hand what makes a potent goal-scoring forward and sees high quality in Mbappe’s play.
