For Ligue 1’s matchday 14, first-place Paris Saint-Germain will welcome third-placed Olympique Lyonnais to the Parc des Princes. Lyon coach Rudi García appeared at a press conference two days before the fixture.

Garcia announced that Lyon could be without star player Memphis Depay, who could miss the game due to “a muscle alert.” Despite potentially being without Depay, Garcia stated that his squad is 100-percent ready to face the capital club.

“We must not expect a PSG that does not give the maximum,” Garcia said. “We are OL, and there is the classification. The most important thing is that we are 100%. Otherwise, we have little chance of disturbing this team. We have to be very good, physically, mentally, and tactically. We will have to be solid because opposite are two of the five best players in the world. We can reproduce three very well. It is not heresy. I will make the decisions to win this game.”

Garcia then transitioned to discussing the makeup of Thomas Tuchel’s team midfield.

“I saw an excellent midfielder at PSG. Verratti’s return has a lot to do with it. I know many like Gueye, Paredes, or Florenzi, whom I trained,” Garcia said. “We are interested in being efficient in all areas. Diminish Verratti’s influence? Yes, he is certainly a formidable supplier of balls.”
