‘We Are French, So Paris Will Always Be in Our Heart’ – Thiago Silva’s Wife on the Family Adjusting To London Despite Missing France

After eight years with Paris Saint-Germain, former captain Thiago Silva moved to Chelsea FC over the summer. A few months have passed since the Brazil international left the French capital for London. As a result, Silva’s wife, Isabelle Silva, interviewed with Goal to discuss how they’re settling in England and what the miss about Paris.

Once Silva answered all the questions about settling in London and trying to learn a new language, the media outlet brought up the city of Paris and whether or not this miss it considering that they’re French citizens.

“I am really happy to be in London. It is a beautiful city that I hope to discover more. But Paris is Paris. It is special. We are French, so Paris will always be in our heart,” Silva said.

Next, she answers whether her husband keeps tabs on some of his former teammates from the capital club.

“Thiago, yes, because they play together in the selection, so it’s easier,” Silva said. “But he still has contact with others too, like Marco Verratti or Angel Di Maria. They played a lot of time together, so they kept in touch.”

Finally, Silva reflects on her eight years living in Paris alongside her husband and two boys to provide insight into what she misses the most about the city. Then she answers whether or not the family will move back to Paris once her husband’s playing career is over.

“Ah, yes, always. I will come back because I love Paris. I love my city. I left a lot of friends in Paris, and I have a lot of good memories seeing that Thiago had his main titles there,” Silva said. “It’s hard to pick just one, but making it to the Champions League final was something. We didn’t win, but it was very special for us.”
