Paris Saint Germain Féminine will host Olympique Lyonnais at the Parc des Princes. On this occasion, Luana, the 27-year-old Brazilian international midfielder who joined the French team in 2020, was invited to discuss on PSG TV about the confrontation they will have with Lyon.
This is an important match as Lyon has long dominated the national scene and defeated the capital club in significant fixtures, with the most recent defeat coming in the 2019-20 UEFA Women’s Champions League semi-final match.
Although the matchup at the Parc doesn’t have anything on the line aside from the points, it is an opportunity for Les Parisiennes to leap into first place and help themselves psychologically that they pick up a win against Lyon.
Luana understands that against Lyon that PSG needs to take advantage of any scoring opportunities because both sides are evenly matched.
“The last games against Lyon were very good, we did well, and we didn’t concede many goals. The Champions League match was played from set-pieces. When you play at this level, it’s the little things that change the game,” Luana said. “We have the qualities to face this team. We have to believe in our possibilities, work hard, and we will succeed. We have to create more scoring chances, and above all, be decisive in these moments. This is the key to such a team.”
