Paris Saint-Germain’s confrontation against FC Nantes ended with a 3-0 win for the capital club as it served as a tune-up for their matchday three UEFA Champions League group stage fixture against RB Leipzig.
The capital club’s first goal against Les Canaris came courtesy of Ander Herrera, who helped Les Parisiens take a 1-0 lead early in the second half. It was a goal that eventually opened up the scoring department.
After the match, the Spain international spoke with PSG’s website to discuss the victory.
“It’s very important to get into the habit of winning. It is not easy to win against an opponent who prepares the match very well. They were well organized, they didn’t want to take a goal. We can be very proud of what we have done. We must continue,” Herrera said.
“Now we have a match in Germany. We know Leipzig, they have a lot of talent. At the start of the match, it was not easy to create chances but we had a lot of patience, peace of mind with the ball and then we controlled the match. Thanks also to Keylor because if they score the penalty maybe the game changes. We have one of the best goalkeepers in the world.”
